What are meta tags?
Meta tags are special HTML tags used to provide additional information about a web page. They are not visible to users, but can be read by search engines and other programs.
There are two main classifications of meta tags:
- SEO meta tags are responsible for the display of the site in the search results and its ranking (Title, Description, Keywords).
- Technical meta tags help to improve the on-site SEO optimization (Viewport, Open Graph, Robots).
Meta tags are an important part of SEO-effective SEO site optimization, as they perform important functions:
- Improving the ranking of the site in the search results;
- Promoting target keywords;
- Attracting the target audience;
- Increasing the CTR of the website page.
