A new study has shown the growth of commercial inquiries in the Ukrainian language for 26%
The active growth of the number of commercial searches in the Ukrainian language was studied. This indicates a new trend for Ukrainian business – the importance of working with Ukrainian semantics.
According to a recent study of the language dynamics of commercial queries in the field of e-commerce over the past 3 years, users began to Google more actively in Ukrainian. If in 2021 the share of requests in the native language was from 15-19%, then in 2023 it increased to 25% and continues to grow actively. This indicates the need for active work on the creation and promotion of the Ukrainian-language version of the website.
Almost 50% are Ukrainian-language requests in the children's goods segment, 40% in the sports category, and 36.4% in the field of pet products.

What should a business pay attention to in order to increase organic traffic to the site?
A large-scale three-year analysis of popular search queries by the Promodo team revealed a positive trend in the use of the Ukrainian language during Google searches. This made it possible to create a basic algorithm of actions for business, which will help work with the Ukrainian-language version of the site.
- It is worth continuing to collect Ukrainian semantics in order to be able to increase traffic.
- You should not make machine translations of the site, as they do not take regionalism and dialectics into account. Because "buy a hanger" can be searched as well as how to buy a "hanger", "trempel", "shoulders".
Currently, Google is not configured to display the Ukrainian version of the site by default, so it is recommended to use redirects. The principle is to leave pages without redirects for search bots, displaying the appropriate language version depending on the request: for example, when a request is made in Russian, return the Russian version of the page.
The increase in the share of requests in the Ukrainian language indicates a new search trend among Ukrainian users. Therefore, online business owners should fill the site with Ukrainian-language content and collect a semantic core taking into account the regional features of speech.
